What you need before installing BulkyGen: operating system, spreadsheet formats, logo requirements, and how internet is used.

BulkyGen runs on Windows 10 or 11, reads standard .xlsx or .csv spreadsheets from any source, and works fully offline except for the occasional licence check on a paid plan. This page covers what you need before installing, separate from how to actually prepare a file — that's covered in the spreadsheet tutorial.

Operating system

Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). There is no macOS or Linux build today — check the download page for the current status if that changes.

Spreadsheet formats

BulkyGen reads .xlsx and .csv files. It doesn't matter which tool produced the file — Excel, Google Sheets (exported as .xlsx or .csv), LibreOffice Calc, or a direct export from your shop or accounting platform all work, as long as the data is laid out with one row per line item. There's no dedicated .xls (the older, pre-2007 Excel format) support — save or export as .xlsx instead if that's what you're starting from.

File size and batch size

There's no hard row-count limit built into the app. Invoices in a batch are rendered one at a time rather than all at once, so a very large batch takes proportionally longer rather than failing outright — a few hundred invoices is a normal batch size, not an edge case.

Internet connection

Generating invoices — single or bulk — happens entirely on your machine and needs no internet connection at all on the free tier. A paid licence checks in with the licence server periodically; if you're offline when that check would happen, BulkyGen keeps working within a grace window before falling back to free-tier limits until it can reach the server again.

Logo requirements

PNG, JPG, or SVG, up to 5MB. Raster images (PNG/JPG) need to be at least 16×16 pixels and no larger than 4000×4000.

Storage

Your invoice history is stored locally on your machine, not in the cloud. See data privacy and security for what does and doesn't leave your computer.

Not sure if this fits your workflow?

If your data is already in a spreadsheet with the layout above, you're set — see your first bulk invoice run. If you're not sure BulkyGen is the right shape of tool for what you need, the bulk invoice software comparison covers when a different kind of tool fits better.
